Very little preparation is needed for a CT scan of the head. As part of the procedure, you will remove anything that might interfere with the imaging. Patients typically need to remove the following items:
- Dentures and other appliances*
- Earrings
- Necklaces
- Piercings
- Hairpins
- Eyeglasses
